The EVP-600 vacuum evaporator is the unit in a botanical extraction line that removes the solvent from the extract. It turns the liquid into a concentrated product such as concrete or absolute. Because it works at low pressure, the solvent evaporates at a lower temperature. As a result, the aroma stays safe, and the condenser recovers the solvent for reuse.
What is a vacuum evaporator?
In solvent extraction, a solvent dissolves the aroma of plants such as rose, jasmine, lavender or chamomile. After filtering, you have a liquid that is mostly solvent with a little valuable extract. The evaporator separates the two.
A vacuum evaporator lowers the pressure inside the vessel. Since a liquid boils at a lower temperature when the pressure drops, gentle heat is enough to remove the solvent. In contrast, open evaporation needs more heat. That heat can damage delicate fragrance molecules and change colour and odour. You can read more about vacuum evaporation here.
How does the EVP-600 vacuum evaporator work?
The process follows five steps:
- Feeding: first, the filtered extract flows from the solvent tank into the 600 L vessel.
- Vacuum: next, the vacuum system lowers the pressure and so the boiling point of the solvent.
- Gentle heating and mixing: then the vessel heats the solution slowly, while the 0.37 kW agitator keeps it moving. This gives even evaporation and stops hot spots.
- Condensation and recovery: after that, the solvent vapour reaches the condenser and turns back into liquid. Then it goes back to the extraction line.
- Concentrated product: finally, the concentrated extract stays in the vessel, ready for the next stage, such as absolute production.

The EVP-600 vacuum evaporator and its smaller sisters are standard designs. However, we can adapt them to your capacity, solvent and plant layout.
Why use the EVP-600 vacuum evaporator?
Aroma protection. Many fragrance compounds do not like heat. Low-temperature evaporation keeps the natural scent, and that directly affects the value of a concrete or absolute.
Solvent savings. Solvent is one of the main running costs of an extraction plant. So when a closed system recovers it, you can reuse it batch after batch.
Safer operation. Hexane and ethanol burn easily. Therefore, a closed stainless steel system with controlled heating keeps vapour out of the work area.
Steady quality. Controlled pressure, temperature and mixing give the same result every batch. That matters to buyers in fragrance and cosmetics.
Where is the EVP-600 vacuum evaporator used?
The EVP-600 vacuum evaporator suits medium and large extraction plants. Typical uses include:
- Rose concrete and rose absolute (Rosa damascena)
- Jasmine, tuberose and other floral concretes
- Lavender, chamomile and herbal extracts
- Ethanol recovery in absolute production
- Solvent recovery in hexane lines
It also works with our static (EKS-S), rotary (EKS-R) and turbo (EKS-T) extractors as part of a complete line. See them on our industrial extraction systems page.
EVP-600 vacuum evaporator or a smaller model?
The right size depends on how much solvent your extractor uses per batch and how many batches you run each day. As a general guide:
- EVP-250 suits pilot plants and small lines.
- EVP-300 fits mid-size lines that need a bit more buffer.
- EVP-600 is the choice for large extractors and plants with several batches a day.
Our engineers size the evaporator together with the extractor, condenser and tanks. In this way, the whole line runs in balance.
Why Dünder Makine?
We have built stainless steel distillation and extraction equipment in Isparta, Türkiye, since 1980. Our family grew up among the rose fields, and producers and fragrance houses around the world use our machines. For example, our references include Robertet, IFF and Biolandes. We build every unit in our own workshop, from a single evaporator to a complete plant.
Frequently asked questions
What does a vacuum evaporator do in extraction? It removes the solvent at low pressure. As a result, you get a concentrated extract and recovered solvent.
Why use vacuum instead of normal evaporation? Vacuum lowers the boiling point. So evaporation runs cooler and protects the aroma.
What is the capacity of the EVP-600 vacuum evaporator? It has a 600 L vessel. We also make 250 L and 300 L versions.
Which material do you use? AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel.
Can I reuse the solvent? Yes. The condenser collects it so it can go back to the extraction line.
Can you customise the EVP-600? Yes. We adapt it to your capacity, solvent and layout.
