Copper rose oil stills are still the first choice for many Rosa damascena producers. Copper spreads heat evenly, reacts with sulphur compounds in the flowers and gives rose oil the clean scent buyers expect. The photos below come from rose distilleries that Dünder Makine has equipped with copper stills, condensers and separators.
Copper stills in a row
Most rose distilleries run several stills side by side. During harvest, one team loads fresh petals while the next still is distilling and a third is being emptied, so the flowers never wait.

Condensers and service platforms
Each copper still has its own stainless steel condenser and separator. A service platform gives the operator safe access to the lids and keeps every still at working height.

Solid-fuel copper stills
Some producers prefer a firebox under the still, close to the traditional method. These units burn wood or other solid fuel and suit sites without a steam boiler.
