Dünder Makine has completed another international project: the installation and commissioning of a complete, turnkey essential oil distillation plant in Burkina Faso. Designed, manufactured, installed and started up by our own team, the facility brings full essential oil production capacity — from raw plant material to a packaged final product — to a single site in West Africa.
A complete plant, built around four 1,000-litre vessels
At the heart of the facility are four 1,000-litre stainless steel distillation vessels, each with roughly 1 m³ of working volume. The plant is designed for water and steam distillation, the proven method for recovering essential oils from aromatic plants while protecting their delicate aromatic profile.
Around these vessels, the system was delivered as a fully integrated line:
- Steam generator to drive the distillation process
- Water cooling tower and condenser units
- Florentine separators for clean oil–water separation
- Stainless steel storage tanks for the recovered essential oils
Every component was produced in stainless steel to food- and cosmetic-grade standards, ensuring the purity of the final product and a long service life under continuous operation.
From distillation to bottling — one continuous flow
What sets this project apart is that it does not stop at distillation. The plant also includes a complete bottling and packaging line: a filling pump, a semi-automatic capper and an automatic labelling machine. This means the operator can manage the entire production chain — distilling the oil, storing it, then filling, capping and labelling the finished bottles — without leaving the facility.
For a producer building a new essential oil operation, this end-to-end capability removes the need to coordinate multiple suppliers and shortens the path from harvest to market.
Turnkey means more than supplying equipment
A turnkey project is only as strong as its start-up. Beyond manufacturing the equipment, our engineering and assembly team travelled to Burkina Faso to carry out the on-site installation, full commissioning and operator training. The customer’s team learned to run the plant safely and efficiently before our engineers handed it over.
